Whether you have barriers that make it difficult to leave your home or simply prefer the convenience of care on your terms, The Clinic Health Groups Physiotherapists and Chiropractors are experienced in providing care through virtual therapy (tele-rehabilitation video) appointments. This type of therapy can be very effective and can simply be done with a computer, tablet or smart-phone.
With Virtual (tele-rehabilitation video) Appointments, We Can:
- Take a complete history to provide an accurate diagnosis
- Examine range of motion and movements
- Perform a functional movement examination
- Evaluate strength
- Prescribe exercises and stretches – with supporting photos/videos
- Correct exercise form and provide cues to perform them more effectively
- Provide and refine self joint mobilization techniques
- Provide and refine self directed soft tissue treatment techniques
- Provide a full rehab plan to follow in your own environment
- Educate patients on their injury or condition
- Help train another person to assist you with exercises or stretches
How Do Virtual Appointments work?
- It’s as easy as using Facetime, Zoom or WhatsApp
- Your physiotherapist or Chiropractor will provide you with a link by email for the secure platform used for the session
- In order to participate in the session, you will require an Internet connection, a device with a camera capable of receiving video and audio (laptop, tablet, computer or smart phone)
Who is An Appropriate Patient For Virtual Appointments?
- Suspected COVID-19 patients
- Busy professionals
- When travel to our clinic isn't practical
- Anyone with acute or non acute pain
- Anyone that wants to take control of their symptoms
- New moms who are too busy and overwhelmed to come to in person appointments, but would rather receive help from the comfort of their home
- Anyone who lives remotely within the province and doesn’t have access to rehabilitation care they need within a tangible distance
Our therapist will advise you if there’s ever a point in your treatment when in person care is more optimal for you. However, research shows that virtual therapy can successfully treat many conditions with the same success rate as in person sessions.
