WHAT IS NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE?

Naturopathic Medicine is its own system of medicine. Combining up-to-date clinical research with traditional and natural therapies, naturopathic medicine focuses on supporting the body’s innate capacity to heal. You can see a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) for support with any condition – acute or chronic.

NDs see the entire body as an interconnected system, and this affects the way we view treatments for different conditions. An example of this is how we treat skin conditions such as eczema: rather than just focusing on the visible symptoms, we look for root causes and thus often treat the digestive and or immune system – because these are all interconnected. This approach considers the person’s overall well-being, including physical and emotional health, social and environmental factors, and genetics, and provides a more permanent solution to any health problems.

WHAT DOES NATUROPATHIC TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?

Among the therapies used are: herbal medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture and cupping, and lifestyle counseling. The first visit takes between 75-90 minutes. ND's typically treat any conditions one would see a conventional medical doctor for.
