WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that deals with the relationship between the spine and nervous system. Doctors of Chiropractic are specifically trained to use hands-on techniques to detect, treat and prevent dysfunctions in your muscles, joints, bones, soft tissue, spine and nervous system that could be caused by accidents, stress, or any other physical, emotional or chemical factors.

By utilizing a variety of specialized hands-on techniques, such as manual therapy, acupuncture, performance taping, exercises, and chiropractic adjustments, Chiropractors can alleviate your pain and allow your body to operate more efficiently, comfortably and optimally.

Chiropractors can also impose prevention strategies that can reduce your pain, restore your function and eliminate the chance of injury recurrences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do chiropractor adjustments work?

A chiropractic adjustment is a high velocity, low amplitude thrust that is applied to joints of the body that are restricted based on a thorough examination.  A popping sound may occur with an adjustment/manipulation. This is simply the gas and fluid moving around that surrounds each joint.  This is not a dangerous or detrimental phenomenon, nor is it necessary for therapeutic benefit. Quite simply, the sound produced is similar to opening a can of soda for the first time.

Do I need a referral from my medical doctor to see a chiropractor?

No, you do not require a doctor’s referral to book an appointment with one of our Chiropractors. However, some extended insurance plans may require one to provide reimbursements.

What can I expect during my first chiropractic visit?

On your first visit, your chiropractor will go through a comprehensive examination that includes a thorough history and orthopedic and neurological examination to diagnose your medical condition or complaint.  After the examination, a diagnosis will be conveyed to you as well as a customized plan of management concerning treatment that will include same-day treatments to alleviate your pain.

How many appointments do I need?

The number of appointments will depend on the condition and severity of the injury.

Will the appointment be covered under my insurance plan?

Chiropractic care is covered under most extended insurance plans. Contact us for more details.
