Clinic Disinfection procedures
The Clinic Health Group takes the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community very seriously. Our team follows disinfection and sanitizing standards as set out in the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee Infection Prevention and Control (PIDAC-IPC) best practice documents. These standards set the criteria for preventing disease transmission in Health Care settings.
The treatment tables at The Clinic at Christie and The Clinic at Ossington, are considered non-critical equipment as they only come into contact with at most, intact skin. PIDAC advises that a low-level disinfectant should be used for these surfaces.
At both clinics, we use Certainty Disinfectant Wipes Plus and Simple Green D Pro 3 Plus, for disinfecting high touched areas such as treatment tables and less frequently touched surfaces.
Other treatment tools including silicone cups, hand weights, electrodes, and myofascial release tools will also be disinfected using one of our disinfectants.
The active ingredient in Certainty Disinfectant Wipes plus is Benzalkonium Chloride; Alkyl Dimethyl Ethylbenzyl Ammonium Chloride.
The active ingredient in Simple Green D Pro 3 Plus is Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride: Benzalkonium Chloride.
