Originally hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Hertzer earned his Bachelor of Arts and Science from McGill University before embarking on his medical journey at McMaster University. Following his medical degree, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Calgary, where he also served as a dedicated board representative for the Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta.
Dr. Hertzer's passion for addiction medicine led him to pursue specialized training through the Alberta Virtual Opioid Dependency Program and gain invaluable experience at the prestigious Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto.
