Victoria Borbely

Victoria Borbely completed her physiotherapy degree at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. Prior to studying physiotherapy, Victoria obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Toronto. Victoria believes in a holistic and patient-centered approach to treatment. Her goal is to empower patients with the tools and knowledge to achieve their functional goals and maintain their progress. Her treatment approach consists of a combination of:

  • manual techniques,
  • modalities,
  • therapeutic exercise and patient education.

Manual therapy techniques Victoria applies are based on Mulligan manual therapy concepts and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) principles. Modalities Victoria often uses include shockwave therapy, interferential current (IFC), ultrasound, dry needling and Intramuscular stimulation needling. As a Functional Range Conditioning movement specialist (FRCms), Victoria prescribes therapeutic exercises that not only address her client’s immediate needs, but also consider the long term maintenance of her client’s joint health. Victoria also uses blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy when applicable to assist with minimizing the loss of muscle strength in clients whose exercise or weight-bearing tolerance is lower due to injury, pain or surgery.

Victoria plans to continue her clinical education by pursuing further courses in acupuncture, dry needling, manual therapy, and pediatrics. In her spare time she enjoys various activities such as running, cycling, hiking and baking.
